Originally from New Jersey, Greg’s career has taken him to Austin, TX, Lawrence, KS, and finally to Nashville, TN. He has released numerous records on several labels, most recently on the highly regarded Sugar Hill label. Over the years, his songs have been recorded by Vince Gill, Robert Earl Keen, Rosanne Cash, and Steve Earle. Come join us for an evening of outstanding songs spanning folk, rock, country, and soul.

Come enjoy the gritty bluesy sounds of Nashville tunesman Kevin Gordon. His blazing set at last year's Twangfest was one of the festival's highlights. Bob Mehr of the Chicago Reader wrote of Kevin: "He's been writing economical but finely etched narratives and setting them to an earthy mix of backwoods country, big-city blues, and febrile Cajun sounds." Of his latest release, Roy Kasten writes "O Come Look At The Burning is dirty and beautiful blues; it's rock'n'roll made in the moment and outside of all concerns except what might leap from fingers and mouths and hearts given over to spontaneous performance." Justin Townes Earle

Justin Townes Earle is touring in support of his recently released solo record, Yuma. I first heard him a few years back on a trip to Nashville when he played with The Swindlers. I was immediately taken with the strength and maturity of his voice.  On Justin's myspace site, Travis Stevens writes, "Justin Earle comes from good stock... His father (legendary and ground-breaking singer/songwriter Steve Earle) must have taught him well.  . . . Whatever he may have learned from his old man, he continues to prove himself as an individual- always forging his own path no matter where the others are going."  

Jeff Weiss, of on-line music store Miles of Music, writes: "After doing time as a member of a couple of local Nashville bands, Earle, son of the legendary singer/songwriter, fearlessly tackles storytelling... in a style reminiscent of his namesakes. The good news is Earle is his own man, and his own songwriter. Earle's rich voice and delicate guitar provide a comfortable bed for his songs of love and loss."

Thad visited St. Louis in 2005 when he and Caitlin Cary were touring in support of their critically acclaimed release, and one of our all-time favorites, Begonias. At the last minute, there was an extra night on their tour, and Thad and Caitlin played the inaugural house concert at the home of Rick and Nancy Wood to a packed “house” in July, 2005.

Originally from North Carolina, but more recently from Nashville, Thad has a beautiful, heart-wrenching voice. From his website bio: “. . .Thad Cockrell hails from the old school of country music, the days before Nashville went pop. ‘There's no 'alt' in my country,’ says Cockrell, who possesses a high-lonesome, wistful tenor voice. ” His first two releases, Stack of Dreams and Warmth and Beauty, are full of heartfelt country songs mixed in with a few melodic pop ones too!
